Enjoy a Memorable Fishing Vacation in the Ozarks
Fishing on Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo and other areas near White River Lodge is some of the most exciting and plentiful the Branson area has to offer.
In the 1940s and 1950s, the 600-mile-long White River was dammed in four places to form Bulls Shoal, Lake Taneycomo, Table Rock Lake, and Beaver Lake. The beautiful, clear, deep water of Table Rock Lake winds for 110 miles through the Ozark hills and is home to a variety of fish species including Kentucky Spotted, Smallmouth, and Largemouth Bass. Below the Table Rock Lake Dam in Branson, Missouri flows Taneycomo. This 26-mile stretch of the White River has been stocked with Rainbow and German Brown trout, and in a true success story, has become one of the best trout fisheries in the world.
Bill Babler obtained a USCG Captain’s license and started White River Outfitters fishing guide service back in the early 1990s. Table Rock Lake and Taneycomo were favorite places of both Bill and Becky when they attended and graduated from College of the Ozarks near Branson, Missouri. After finding that perfect piece of Property on Table Rock lake 14 miles from Branson and Lake Taneycomo, Becky’s retirement from teaching, and son, Steven’s graduation from MU, White River Lodge became reality and home. Now you too can fish the lakes that made the Ozarks famous.
White River Outfitters guide service takes clients spin-cast or fly-fishing for trout on Taneycomo or uses a variety of techniques for bass fishing on Table Rock Lake (catch and release on bass and trophy trout). White River Outfitters provides the boat and all equipment, bait, and tackle needed for your 4 or 6-hour trip. A four-hour trip for 1 or 2 people is $325 or a six-hour trip for $425. Third person is extra. Please call the lodge to check availability and/or book a fishing trip with Bill Babler. As of 09/01/19, Bill Babler holds the Missouri state record Brown Trout 40.4 pounds caught on Lake Taneycomo in Branson, MO. Bill caught this massive German Brown Trout while fishing with a friend. Hear the story and see the mount at White River Lodge.
